Reduce Stress and Anxiety Symptoms with a Massage Chair

By James T Nolan

Stress is a response to stimuli from your environment. It comes from your perception that something is causing change to the status quo. Put another way, stress causes changes in your body that are physical and psychological. The effects of stress can vary by situation and by individual. Massage chairs are effective in providing relief to the aches, pains and the tension caused by stress and anxiety.

Unfortunately, our advanced intelligence enables us to often spend too much time ruminating over situations or life experiences that help to increase our stress and anxiety. We may be caught up in perceived situations or problems and cannot find immediate solutions to them.

One major area causing stress and anxiety stems from our relationships. The trials and tribulations of getting along with others sets off many physiological issues. Sometimes we put ourselves into bad situations and sometimes others put us in them. Either way we perceive these situations as difficult which causes an increase in stress and anxiety.

When we come under stress our bodies respond by releasing hormones like adrenalin and glucocorticoids. These two hormones increase heart rate and energy. These hormones produce the fight or flight response to provide the strength to fight or flee from danger. However, when your body is under this kind of stress over a longer period of time it causes both physical and psychological changes in your body.

What are the psychological effects caused by stress or anxiety? The mind is a powerful tool and can affect the body in some negative ways. One area is suppressing the immune system. The body reacts as if it is in immediate danger, while stress gets prolonged, longer term functions are sacrificed. The immune system effectiveness is lowered and the body becomes an easier target for infections and viruses. Other areas that can be impaired are learning, judgment and memory as the brain focuses on working over the immediate problem.

Physical effects of stress and anxiety include muscle stiffness and tightness. This can especially affect the back, shoulders and neck. These areas tend to carry the stress and cause pain in discomfort. Many people will have knots in their back or shoulder areas from the tightness associated with stress and anxiety.

Massage chairs are very effective in relieving some of the symptoms of stress and anxiety. Massage chairs provide a variety of effective massage techniques ranging from Swedish to Shiatsu. These massage techniques help to relax the muscles of the back, shoulders and neck.

As your muscles are elongated, stretched and massaged, the pain and aches are reduced. The muscles begin to relax. As you take the time to sit and let your body relax, youre your mind begins to clear. Some massages, like shiatsu help with awareness and concentration which helps to reduce stress.

A massage chair is an excellent asset in relieving your stress and anxiety. A massage chair helps your body to relax which in turn helps your mind to relax. Stress can impair our judgment, so we need to clear our minds and bodies to better deal with these situations. Massage chairs provide a haven in turbulent times to relax the body and mind.

Stress and anxiety seem to be with us in the modern age. Our challenge is to find a consistent means to release the effects of stress and anxiety. Massage chairs provide the most convenient method of relief as it builds up. Periodic relief from massage chairs help to balance out the incoming source of stress with an outlet for the stress. - 16477

Hardwood Flooring the better choice

If you want a floor that will last for many years, then go with hardwood floors in your home. Not only will you have a floor that looks great, but can be modified over time to suit your imaginative home improvement.

The difference between the hardwood floor and laminated floors are poles apart. Well if you have the resources to get a hardwood floor done, it is worth it. As there are some types of wood that are cheaper, like white oak or pine.

Laminate floors are a cheap alternative to hardwood. The bad thing about this type of flooring is, you can NOT refinish it. These types of flooring come already finished, all you do is snap the pieces in place. This can be tricky because if the tongue on the board breaks then that board may not be completely grounded. If the board is not tight then the floor can warp causing ripples.

Reduce Your Energy Usage

When you have to pay for the high electricity bills every month, you will always grumble at you family member for such high usage. Maybe its high time we need to think seriously on how to reduce the electric bill.

The importance of saving electricity.

First you must discuss with your family members why you need to save electricity. Some suggestion and participation from your family member by asking them question on how to save electricity will help them to remember the mission they are into. Once the suggestion is given quickly write them down.

Here are a few tips to follow.

1. Switch off the lights when no one is present.

2. Iron all your clothes once a week and not as when you need to wear it.

3. Collect your dirty clothes and wash it with full load, if you do not have full load every day. Half load and full load will consume the same electricity.

4. Try to reduce the use of microwave, oven and electric kettle.

5. Try to keep the family member together in one place to use the same lighting and fan/air-conditioner at the same time rather than having them all over the house with full lighting on.

Now you can find energy saving appliance which is environmental friendly. Even light bulbs or fluorescent lights should be change to the energy saving type over the traditional bulbs as they use less energy.

When all this is done on a regular basis with reminders, it will be a habit in the long run. And it will become second nature for you and your family to save energy in your household.
