Most homes have the regular traditional stainless steel sinks which we have come to appreciate. Their popularity stems from their distinct metallic appearance that makes them unique and fashionable. There was a general misconception that since the sink was comprised of stainless steel, it would be easy to clean.

Most homes and apartments have stainless steel sinks. These were essentially mass-installed because of their low maintenance costs. They were also easy to install. Nowadays, there is stiff competition in the buyer's market in real estate. This means it is harder to sell a home. To cure this, most people are opting to remodel their homes. One way of doing this is to install copper sinks. These are very popular. Their popularity stems from their many benefits and advantages.

Copper sinks are one of the most easy to maintain home appliance since it does not need cleaning using harsh chemicals but a mere soap and water can do the job. Its base metal copper has a hostile characteristic in which bacteria and other form of germs cannot thrive or multiply in its surface.

Copper sinks are therefore maintenance free. It is also interesting to note that copper has an uncanny ability to transform its color. This is achieved by the "patina" which slows the aging process. It can therefore be noted that the more copper ages, the more it reveals its splendor. This cannot be said of stainless steel which without proper maintenance can begin to show a discoloring.
